Kathleen Lorenz
Kathleen Lorenz (born September 11, 1984 in Waltershausen ) is a former German skeleton pilot .
Kathleen Lorenz from BSR Rennsteig Oberhof first started toboggan from 1998 to 2002 , but then switched to skeleton. She contested her first races at national level. In 2004 she finished sixth at the national championships, her best placement so far in this competition, and she was second behind Julia Eichhorn in the German junior championships. Lorenz made her international debut in January 2004 in a European Skeleton Cup race in Igls , where she finished fourth. At the following Junior World Championships in Winterberg she won the title. For the next season she started again in the European Cup. In December 2004 she was second behind Anja Huber in Altenberg . In the overall ranking of the competition, she finally came third. At the national junior championships she came back on the podium in third place. In 2005 she won the Junior World Championships again in Winterberg. In the 2005/06 season she was again third in the overall ranking in the European Cup, the best result was a second place in Königssee , in the following season she came second behind Marion Trott and won her first European Cup race in Igls. Lorenz also won the next two races in Königssee and Cesana . From the 2008/09 season she started the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental Cup the year before . It almost always achieved single-digit results here in the following two years. In November 2009 she won her first race in the series in Winterberg. More victories followed in Lake Placid and Park City . At the end of the 2009/10 season she won the overall standings.
