German Skeleton Championship 2002

The 36th German Skeleton Championship 2002 was held on January 6, 2002 in Altenberg . There was one event for women and one for men. Both were carried out in two runs.

A total of 19 registered participants took part. Peter Meyer did not compete in the second run, André Strobel dropped out after an accident. The superior champion was Willi Schneider for the eighth time , who set the fastest time in both runs. Andy Böhme drove the two second-best running times . Frank Kleber only secured bronze in the second run ahead of Dirk Matschenz , who was still in third place after the first run.

A total of 16 participants took part. Anke Riekewald did not compete in the second round. Diana Sartor was leading with three hundredths of a second ahead of Steffi Hanzlik after the first run and also set the best time in the second run with three tenths of a second ahead of Hanzlik. Annett Köhler was third, but after the first round she was still fourth behind Julia Eichhorn .
