Peter Meyer is a former German skeleton athlete .

Peter Meyer from Bischofswiesen started for the BSC Munich . He took part in a skeleton World Cup race for the first time in Winterberg in 1993 and was 13th. At the 1995 Skeleton World Championship in Lillehammer , he was 17, and in 1996 in Calgary 19. In 2001 Meyer achieved his first result in the top ten with fifth place in Königssee and at the same time his best result in the World Cup. At the first skeleton world championship in 2002 in Groningen , he won the bronze medal behind Peter van Wees and Dirk Matschenz . Nationally, Meyer won the silver medal in Altenberg in 1996 behind Willi Schneider , and in 1997 and 2000 he was third in Winterberg. In 1999 , he just missed a medal in fourth place. At the Bavarian Championships he was third in 1996 and 1997, and in 2002 second behind Frank Kleber .
