Steffen Rothacker (born April 13, 1987 ) is a former German skeleton athlete .

Steffen Rothacker lives in Marktschellenberg and started for WSV Königssee . He started skeleton in 2002 and moved up to the German national team in 2007. In 2006 he took part in his first German championships, where he was 13th. In the 2007/08 season he made his international debut in the European Skeleton Cup . In his first race in Igls , he finished 28th. In the second race he made it into the top ten for the first time in ninth place. In Winterberg Rothacker was able to reach the podium for the first time behind Alexander Gasznar and David Ludwig . He finished the overall ranking in fourth place. In the following season he competed in all eight races and only did not reach the top ten in one of the two races in Altenberg in eleventh. In Igls he reached the podium for a second time in third place behind Sebastian Haupt and Markus Penz . In the overall standings, he was fifth. After the season, Rothacker ended his active career.

Rothacker has been working as a trainer since then. Kilian von Schleinitz is one of his protégés .
