The 2008/09 Skeleton World Cup began on November 28, 2008 in Winterberg and ended on February 12, 2009 in Park City, USA . The highlight of the season was the 21st Skeleton World Championship from February 16 to March 1, 2009 in Lake Placid .

The season was held in eight World Cup races parallel to the Bobsleigh World Cup 2008/09 . For the races that were canceled in Cesana due to heavy snowfall, replacement races were held in Park City. The races planned in Cortina d'Ampezzo have been moved to Königssee due to technical defects . The Intercontinental Cup , the European Cup and the America's Cup served as the substructure . All results were included in the FIBT Skeleton Ranking 2008/09 .
