Marco Zoccolan

Marco Zoccolan (born July 11, 1986 in Rivoli ) is an Italian skeleton athlete .

Marco Zoccolan lives in Rivoli and has been involved in the sport of skeleton since 2006. A year later he was promoted to the Italian national team. In January 2008 he contested his first race as part of the European Skeleton Cup and was 19th in the race in St. Moritz . At the 2008 Italian championships, Zoccolan finished fifth. Further appearances in the Skeleton America's Cup and in the European Cup followed, but without achieving outstanding results. Nevertheless, the Italian made his debut in the Skeleton World Cup in Königssee in January 2009 and finished 28th. Shortly thereafter, he was in the same place 16th in the Junior World Championship. In winter 2009/10, Zoccolan drove in two European Cup racesCesana Pariol among the top ten. At the end of 2009 held Italian Championships 2010 he was third for the first time on the podium; also in the next year he took third place.
