Pascal Oswald studied law at the Universities of Zurich and St. Gallen . He has been active in skeleton sport for the BSC Gyrenbad club since 2002 and has been part of the Swiss national team since 2003. Oswald is trained by Snorre Pedersen and Cédric Tamani . At the time when he started with skeleton, Oswald was part of the Swiss U23 national team in athletics. His club here is the Adliswil Track Team , and was particularly successful as a high jumper and decathlete. He made his first attempts at driving the skeleton sled in the Olympic ice channel in Igls . In the same year he made his debut in December 2002 in a race of the Skeleton European Cup in Winterberg (25th) at international level. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Königssee , he finished 16th. In 2003 he shifted his sporting focus from athletics to skeleton.
In January 2004, Oswald made his debut in Lillehammer in the Skeleton World Cup (31st). At Swiss Championships, since his debut in the highest category in January 2004, he has won a total of eight medals, three of which are gold ( title hat trick 2010/2011/2012). In the 2005 Universiade race in Igls , he finished fifth. His best ranking at the European Skeleton Championships is eighth, which he achieved in both 2009 in St. Moritz and 2011 in Winterberg . He has only participated in one world championship so far, in 2011 in Königssee (20th). He achieved his best World Cup result so far in January 2010 when he finished sixth in St. Moritz. In February 2010 he started at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver (16th).
In addition to skeleton, Oswald continues to do athletics. In 2007 he was the best Swiss with a jump of 2.15 m in the high jump. At the Swiss Indoor Athletics Championships in February 2008 in the St. Gallen Athletics Center, Pascal Oswald became Swiss Champion in the high jump with a height of 2.14 m.
