Sergei Sergejewitsch Tschudinow ( Russian Сергей Сергеевич Чудинов ; born August 6, 1983 in Tschussowoi , Perm Oblast ) is a Russian skeleton driver .

Tschudinow has been running skeleton since 2003 and has been part of the Russian national team since 2004. He made his debut in the World Cup in Lillehammer in January 2004 (22nd). In February he took part in a European Championship in Altenberg for the first time and finished in 16th place. At the subsequent Skeleton World Championship in Koenigssee in 2004 he was 29th, at the EM 2005 , again in Altenberg, he came in 15th. At the World Cup races he was mostly in the back of the rankings at that time, but was fifth at the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Igls . Since the 2006/07 season , Chudinov's results have continuously improved. In Cesana in February 2007 he was fourth for the first time in the top ten. In the same month he was 13th at the 2007 Skeleton World Championship in St. Moritz and tenth at the 2007 European Skeleton Championship in Königssee. At the 2009 World Cup , Chudinov finished twelfth. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he also reached a twelfth place. His breakthrough to the top of the world came in the 2010/11 season . In Lake Placid , he won his first World Cup race, with two second places and fourth place overall. At the European Championships in Winterberg , he won his first international medal with the silver medal behind Martins Dukurs . At the World Championships in Königssee, however, he did not get beyond tenth place. In the following season he finished in five of the eight races of the season and finished eighth in the overall World Cup. At the 2012 World Cup in Lake Placid, he just missed his first World Cup medal in fourth.

In winter 2012/13 Tschudinow achieved two second places in the Intercontinental Cup and two fourth places in the World Cup in Igls . After he was only at the start in six of the nine races of the season, he finished 14th in the overall World Cup. On February 2, 2013, he won the bronze medal behind Alexander Tretyakov and Martins Dukurs at the Skeleton World Championship in St. Moritz . The 2013/14 season began Tschudinow with four podiums in the North American Cup . In the World Cup his best results were three fourth places and he was ninth overall. At the Olympic Games in Sochi , he finished fifth. Tschudinow started the 2014/15 season with ranks 4, 5 and 3 in the Intercontinental Cup . In the World Cup , he took part in six of the eight races of the season and placed five times between the ranks 5 and 7. At the European Championships in 2015 , he was sixth, at the World Championships both individually and with Team Russia II, tenth. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he won his first race in the European Cup in Altenberg .

Doping and suspension

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) imposed a life-long Olympic ban on Romanova in 2017. The lock was triggered by the McLaren report . The Olympic placements received were revoked.
