European Skeleton Championship 2015
The 21st European Skeleton Championship took place on January 30, 2015 in La Plagne (men) and on February 8, 2015 in Igls (women) and was held in parallel to the sixth (men) and seventh (women) of eight World Cup season races . Originally, the women's race was supposed to take place on January 31, also in La Plagne, where the 2015 European Bobsleigh Championship was held. Because the European Championship was held during a World Cup, the World Cup rules applied to the races.
After the men's first run on January 30th, the second run was canceled due to the poor track conditions and the result after the first run was counted. Martins Dukurs won his sixth European Championship title in a row, Olympic champion Alexander Tretyakov won silver ahead of Tomass Dukurs .
The women's race planned for January 31 was canceled before the start due to unacceptable track conditions. As a catch-up race, a second race was then set for February 8 at the next World Cup location, Igls. There, Olympic champion Elizabeth Yarnold won her first European Championship medal in front of defending champions Janine Flock and Rose McGrandle .
The numbers in brackets after the name indicate the placements in the World Cup race, which was also ranked and in which non-Europeans also took part. The numbers for the running times of women, however, refer to the EM rating.
