European Skeleton Championship 2016

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 22nd European Skeleton Championship took place in St. Moritz on February 5, 2016 and was held parallel to the seventh of eight World Cup races this season and the 2016 European Bobsleigh Championship . Because the European Championship was held during a World Cup, the World Cup rules applied to the races.

In the women's category , Janine Flock won the title for the second time since 2014, ahead of World Cup leaders Tina Hermann and Marina Gilardoni , who both won their first medals at European championships. In the men's race, the brothers Martins and Tomass Dukurs won the gold medal at the same time. For Martins this was the seventh title in a row, for Tomass it was the first after two silver and three bronze medals. Third place went to Nikita Tregubow , who won his first EM precious metal.

The numbers in brackets after the name indicate the placements in the World Cup race, which was also ranked and in which non-Europeans also took part. The numbers for the runtimes, however, refer to the EM rating.
