Pawel Kulikow lives in Saint Petersburg and has been practicing skeleton since 2011. He is trained by his father, a former bobsleigh athlete . In the winter of 2012/13 he made his debut in the international IBSF racing series in the European Cup , where he achieved third place in Igls and a win in Altenberg in his first season . In March 2013, he also took part in two races at the North American Cup in Lake Placid , which he also won. In 2013/14 he did not compete in international races. In 2014/15 he started in five of the eight races of the season in the Intercontinental Cup and was twice winner and three times second. Although he skipped three races and instead took part in two races in the World Cup for the first time , he was third in the overall standings. In his two World Cup starts he reached a 10th and an 11th place. At the Junior World Championships in Altenberg Kulikow was seventh and at the World Championships in Winterberg he finished 13th.
