European Skeleton Championship 2003

The venue for the 9th European Skeleton Championship in 2003 was St. Moritz in Switzerland between January 21 and 24, 2003 . For the first time since 1988 European championships are held again . It is the first European championship for women. Since the competitions took place as part of the World Cup, 23 drivers from overseas (Japan, Canada, New Zealand and the USA) were also at the start. Their placements were deleted from the EM ranking. The winners were Chris Soule ( USA ) for men and Michelle Kelly ( Canada ) for women . The European champions Walter Stern ( Austria ) and Monique Riekewald ( Germany ) came in third and sixth respectively. Overall, the Canadians, Americans and, in some cases, the Japanese dominated the competitions. For the women, for example, four Canadians came in first to fourth.
