Chris Soule

Chris Soule (born February 5, 1973 in Trumbull ) is an American skeleton driver .

Chris Soule, who was trained by Orvie Garrett , made his debut in a race in Altenberg in World Cup 12 in early 1996. He finished fifth in his second race in La Plagne . In 2002 he won his first World Cup race in St. Moritz . Soule has won world cup races three times. Good placements in the overall World Cup followed. In 1999/2000 he was second in the overall standings behind Andy Böhme , in 2001/02 behind Gregor Stähli . In 2002/03 he won the overall World Cup ranking. In 2003/04 he finished fourth.

Soule first took part in world championships in 1996 in Calgary and was 13th. A year later he was able to win his first international medal, a bronze medal, in Lake Placid . In 1998 in St. Moritz, Soule was seventh, in 2003 he won silver in Nagano behind Jeff Pain . A year later he was fifth in Königssee and eighth in Calgary in 2005. Soules greatest success at the North American Championships in 1998 was winning the silver medal behind Ryan Davenport . At national championships, Chris Soule was US champion in 2000 and 2002, and in 2003 he won silver behind Brady Canfield . There was also a silver medal at the Goodwill Games in Lake Placid 2000.

When in 2002 the sport of skeleton was included in the Olympic program for the first time since 1948 at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , Soule was part of the US team alongside Lincoln DeWitt and Jim Shea and came in seventh. For the games four years later, he was initially unable to qualify in the US preliminary rounds. Nevertheless, he was appointed to the squad shortly before the opening of the games , as he slipped up for Zach Lund, who had been excluded for doping . In the end, Soule was 25th and third from last.

In the movie The Jane Files , Soule plays one of the training partners of the main character played by Demi Moore . He has been working as a cameraman since 2007, among others for the series The Quest and the program The Used Car Professionals .
