Alexa Putnam

Alexa Putnam (born September 30, 1988 on St. John ) is a skeleton pilot from the US Virgin Islands .

Alexa Putnam got into the sport of skeleton when bobsleigh and skeleton rider Troy Billington was attending her school. In December 2002 she accompanied him with several other interested parties to Park City for their first training on an ice rink, and in 2003 for training in Igls . Then Putnam decided to practice the sport. At her school in St. John, she was trained by the director of the sports program, Morgan, who had previously trained a team of Olympic athletes. She has been training intensively for sport since 2004. Putnam now lives in Berchtesgaden and trains with the German team. Your trainers are the national trainer Raimund Bethge as well as Bernhard Lehmann and Jens Müller .

In December 2004 Putnam made his debut in Altenberg as 24th in the European Skeleton Cup . The following month she was 22nd and last at the Junior World Championships in Winterberg . A year later she was 25th at the Junior European Championships in Igls , but now left several other starters behind, including her compatriot Chutney Mohler. In February 2007 Putnam made his debut in Winterberg in the Skeleton World Cup . In the following race in Königssee , she was able to achieve her best ever World Cup result with 18th place. In the overall ranking of the World Cup she came in 29th place. Putnam finished 22nd at the 2007 Skeleton World Championship in St. Moritz .
