Jens Müller (born July 6, 1965 in Torgau ) is a former German luge athlete and Olympic champion .

Jens Müller started for the ASK Vorwärts Oberhof and the BSR Rennsteig Oberhof . From the end of the 1980s until 2002 he was one of the best German tobogganists. The highlight of his career was winning the Olympic Games in 1988 in Calgary . Later he became European champion in Sigulda in 1996 and in Winterberg in 2000 and world champion in St. Moritz in 2000 , and also took numerous podium places at European and world championships.

After his active career, Müller became a trainer and trained, among other things, the skeleton pilot Steffi Jacob . From 2002 to 2018 he was national coach for skeleton at the German Bobsleigh and Sled Association (BSD).

Jens Müller has been an honorary citizen of Ilmenau in Thuringia since 1988 . In the same year he received the Patriotic Order of Merit in Gold.
