Anton "Tony" Salvesen (* 1927 ) is a former Norwegian luge rider .

Salvesen started luge at the age of 18 and became Norwegian champion several times. The shipbroker had his only international success when he won the title at the first Luge World Championships in his own country in 1955, ahead of the Austrians Josef Thaler and Josef Isser and thus became the first world champion. To date (as of 2010) this is the only Norwegian World Cup medal in this sport. In the doubles competition, Salvesen took sixth place with his partner Alf Large . The 28-year-old then ended his career and moved abroad for work. In 1979 Salvesen, who was the father of two daughters and a son at the time, had another public appearance at the 1979 World Championships when he held the award ceremony together with the other title holders from 1955.
