Johann Daniel Symanski

Johann Daniel Symanski (born September 8, 1789 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † March 25, 1857 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer, journalist and man of letters.

Life

Symanski studied law from 1807 at the Albertus University in Königsberg . Even then he was active in literature. In 1813 he joined the East Prussian National Cavalry Regiment . From 1817 he was a dispatch clerk at the Medical Staff of the Prussian Army . Despite this position, he published democratic magazines. The lamp, Zeitblatt für Wissenschaft, Kunst und Leben , continued as Der Freimüthige für Deutschland , was banned in 1820. Symanski also published poems in several collections. As a member of the Berlin Masonic Lodge Zum flammenden Stern , he wrote numerous Masonic songs and cantatas.
