Maurizio Oioli

Maurizio Oioli (born July 9, 1981 in Domodossola ) is an Italian skeleton driver .

Maurizio Oioli has been involved in skeleton sport since 2002, and one year later he was promoted to the Italian national team. He lives in Domodossola and is trained by Dany Locati and Omar Sacco. He made his international debut in January 2003 at a European Skeleton Cup race in Altenberg (24th). At the Junior World Championships of the year in Königssee he finished 17th, at the Italian Championships he was fifth. In January 2004 Oioli made his debut in Lillehammer when he placed 37th in the Skeleton World Cup , then came ninth in Iglsfor the first time among the top ten in the European Cup. He finished sixth at the Junior World Championships in Winterberg , and 18th at the European Championships. Finally, in 2004, he also won the Italian championship for the first time.

The 2004/05 season brought ninth place at the Universiade and 26th place at the 2005 Skeleton World Championship in Calgary . Highlight the following season were the 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin . In his home country he finished 12th in the race in Cesana Pariol . As in the previous year, he was also the Italian runner-up behind Alberto Polacchi . In Igls, he achieved third place in a European Cup race, his best result in this competition. In the following season , Oioli achieved his best World Cup result so far in Cesana with 13th place. At the Italian championships he was third, at the European Skeleton Championships 2007 15th 2007/08 the Italian mostly competed in the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental Cup and achieved his best result so far in 13th in Cesana. He also started in races of the World and European Cups. At the European Skeleton Championships in 2008 , he finished 16th. At the national championships of the year, the sports soldier took third place, in 2009, 2010 and 2011 he won the title again.
