Tionette Stoddard

Tionette Stoddard (born September 22, 1974 in Emerald Residence ) is a New Zealand skeleton pilot and weightlifter .

Tionette Stoddard has been a weightlifter since 2000 and competes in this sport for the Cougars club . Since 2004 she has been practicing skeleton sports. The Dunedinerin is trained by Dirk Matschenz and Angus Ross. She had her first international outing in November 2004 in a race as part of the Skeleton European Cup in Igls (22nd). After further races in the Europe and America's Cup , she started in Turin for the first time in January 2005 in the Skeleton World Cup (28th). In Park City , she won an America's Cup race in December 2006. A year later she reached Lake Placid in 18th place for the first time in the second round of the World Cup. It was not until January 2009 that Stoddard achieved a single-digit World Cup result for the first time in eighth place in St. Moritz . In April, the New Zealander won an America's Cup race for the first time in Lake Placid. With an eighth place at the 2010 World Cup in Igls, she qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics .
