Skeleton World Championship 2016

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 25th Skeleton World Championship took place between February 8 and 21, 2016 parallel to the Bobsleigh World Championship on the artificial ice rink in Innsbruck - Igls in Austria .

The world association IBSF awarded the World Cup in bobsleigh and skeleton to Igls at its congress on June 9, 2012 in Sochi . The place above Innsbruck has already hosted world championships in both individual sports in the past, namely in 1935 , 1963 and 1993 in bobsleigh and in 1991 and 2000 in skeleton. However, it was the first time that the competitions were held in Igls.
