Kendall Wesenberg (born August 23, 1990 in Castro Valley , California ) is an American skeleton pilot .

Career

Kendall Wesenberg is from Modesto and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder . Before moving to skeleton, she played several sports, including soccer for the University of Colorado team. She became aware of the sport of bobsleigh and skeleton through the 2010 Olympics and moved to Park City after graduating in 2012 to become a skeleton pilot.

In 2014, Kendall Wesenberg qualified for the first time in international skeleton races. In November 2014 she made her debut in Lillehammer in the European Cup and immediately won ahead of Kim Meylemans and Anastassija Schlapak . In the first run she undercut Elizabeth Yarnold's track record from 2011. Over the course of the season, she achieved further podium places with two second places in Winterberg and St. Moritz and was among the top nine in all eight races, making her the first US American won the overall standings ahead of Schlapak and Renata Chusina . For the 2015/16 season she qualified in the national elimination races for the World Cup and made her debut in November 2015 in Altenberg with an 18th place. In the second race in Winterberg she was able to improve to 12th place.
