Kevin Ellis (skeleton pilot)

Kevin Ellis (born June 29, 1973 in Dallas ) is a former American skeleton pilot .

Kevin Ellis began his international career in January 2000 when he finished tenth at the US Championships . In November of that year he made his debut in eighth in Calgary at the America's Cup, which was held for the first time . In December 2001 he was first second in Lake Placid , in the following race he won for the first time. In the 2001/02 season he finished second behind Zach Lund in the overall ranking of the competition. For the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City , he could not qualify. At the US championships of the year he finished second behind Chris Soule .

In November 2002 , Ellis took part in a World Cup race in Calgary for the first time and finished 14th. In his next race in Park City , he was tenth in the top 10, in his third World Cup race in Lake Placid, he finished second behind Soule . It should remain his best result. He finished sixth at the 2003 World Championships in Nagano . After he had less good results between 2003 and 2005 and was even relegated to the America's Cup - where he had very good results - there was another performance increase in the 2005/06 season , Ellis' last season. In December 2005, he finished again in Igls for a second World Cup place, and he also qualified for the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin . The Olympic race, also the last race of his career, Ellis finished in 17th place.
