Carla Pavan

Carla Pavan (born April 5, 1975 in Lethbridge ) is a Canadian skeleton pilot .

Carla Pavan has been involved in skeleton since 2002 and has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2005. She lives in Calgary and is trained by the former world-class German pilot Willi Schneider . She made her international debut in 2002 in seventh place in an America's Cup race on her home track in Calgary. After several other races in America's and European Cups, she made her debut in Altenberg in February 2004, initially for one race in the World Cup (23rd). Since the 2005/06 season Pavan was a member of the Canadian home World Cup team. During the season she also won her first and so far only World Cup race in Igls .

At the North American Skeleton Championships in Calgary in 2004, Pavan won silver behind Jessica Palmer . In 2003 she had already won bronze at the Canadian Championships , in 2004 and 2005 she was sixth. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , she came as a forerunner to her last international appearance and has been in charge of the Canadian Skeleton America's Cup team since the 2010/11 season .
