Amy Gough (born August 24, 1977 in Williams Lake ) is a Canadian skeleton pilot .

Amy Gough has been involved in skeleton sports since 2002 and has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2006. She is trained by the German Willi Schneider . The Calgaryan made her international debut in December 2002 at the America's Cup , after she previously failed to qualify for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in the national eliminations . She finished eleventh on her home track in Calgary. It took several years before she finally made her breakthrough here with a win in Calgary in 2005. After she then celebrated another victory in her own place, she was able to take part in races in Europe at the Skeleton European Cup for the first time , where her best placement was a second place in St. Moritz .

In the internal eliminations for the World Cup, Gough was able to prevail in October 2006 and has since started her first season in the World Cup. After having made a moderate debut as 20th on her home track, she was able to improve with every race and most recently finished fourth in Igls and Winterberg . In the 2007/08 season the Canadian competed in the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental Cup , won one of the six races there and took third place in the overall standings. There Gough started the following season . She won one race at Lake Placid and two races at Cesana Pariol . With this she booked the most victories of the season. She also came in second once. Nevertheless she had to admit defeat to Katharina Heinz in the overall standings . At the beginning of the 2009/10 season , Gough achieved her best World Cup result with second place in Park City . She was also runner-up in two pre-Olympic Intercontinental Cups in Calgary . At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , she finished 7th. At the Canadian Championships 2010 Gough was runner-up behind Mellisa Hollingsworth . In the 2010/11 season she reached three third places in the World Cup and was fifth in the overall standings. At the world championship in Königssee she reached seventh place.
