Shin Eun-kyung (born February 15, 1973 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a South Korean actress .

In 1986 she made her television debut in a contribution to the public KBS . In the following years she worked as an actress in numerous national television productions. In 1989 she finally made her feature film debut with the socially critical drama Kuro arirang . Her breakthrough came in 1997 in the role of a courageous prostitute in Im Kwon-taeks film Chang ( kor. 노는 계집 창 ).

In 1999 she also acted increasingly in international films, such as in the Japanese-South Korean co-production The Ring Virus , a remake of the Japanese hit film Ring - The Original , and in a supporting role in the Japanese horror film Uzumaki . Two years later she played her most successful role as a female gang boss in My Wife Is a Gangster and its straggler My Wife Is a Gangster 2 , two contributions to a commercially very successful film series in South Korea.

The actress was privately married from 2003 to 2007. The marriage produced a son.
