from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mitch Rapp is a fictional character created by the American author Vince Flynn and the main character in the series of the same name.

Family and private

Rapp grew up in Virginia . His only remaining family member is his brother, Steven Rapp. In The Attack you get to know his future wife Anna Rielly, a reporter who works as a White House correspondent for NBC but is assassinated in The Enemy . He is fluent in English, French, Arabic, Farsi and Italian. He is proficient in karate, judo, Thai boxing and has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Rapp was a lacrosse player at Syracuse University and won the Ironman triathlon - so his callsign in military operations is Iron Man . Rapp is both left-handed and right-handed, but prefers his left hand.

Central Intelligence Agency

After his girlfriend at the time fell victim to the attack on PanAm Flight 103 , Irene Kennedy, then head of the Central Intelligence Agency's anti-terrorism department, recruited him for the CIA and trained him. For several years Rapp had been part of a unit that was always deployed when there were neither diplomatic nor military options for the United States. The aim of this unit was to defeat America's enemies by all means, most of which resulted in the death of these people. In lonely moments, Mitch Rapp describes himself as a "killer on behalf of the government". This unit was called the Orion Team .

After the mentor Irene Kennedys and director of the Central Intelligence Agency Thomas Stansfield passed away and Kennedy was to succeed him, the Republican politician and MP Albert Rudin tried to prevent Kennedy's appointment by unmasking Rapp's true identity, which failed. Thereafter, Rapp was appointed Special Advisor to the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency for the Near and Middle East .
