Mithat Ertuğ (born February 2, 1904 in Istanbul , † 1983 ) was a Turkish football player . Through his many years of work for Galatasaray Istanbul and as its own generation, he is associated with this association. He was a member of the Galatasaray team that dominated Turkish football in the 1920s and won five of eight possible Istanbul championships .

Player career

society

Ertuğ attended the renowned Galatasaray High School and played here in the youth department of the traditional Galatasaray Istanbul club - the club that was founded by students from the Galatasaray High School. During the 1923/24 season he was accepted into the professional squad as a 19-year-old and was used in four games of the İstanbul Ligi (German Istanbul League ) during this season . Since there was no national professional league in Turkey at that time, regional leagues existed instead in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was considered the most renowned. After his team had awarded the championship of this season in the last league game to arch rivals Beşiktaş Istanbul , they won their first title in this newly formed league in the 1924/25 season .

Ertuğ played for Galatasaray until the summer of 1932 and was able to win the Istanbul championship four more times with his club.

National team

Ertuğ began his national team career in 1924 with a commitment for the Turkish national team in a friendly against the national team of the USSR . By April 1932 he completed seven more games.
