Mitra Farahani (born January 27, 1975 in Tehran , Iran ) is an Iranian filmmaker and artist living in Paris .

Life

Farahani completed a drawing degree in Tehran in 1997 and has lived in Paris since 1998. There she studied video art. In 2009 she was detained in Iran for two weeks because she was accused of making films un-Islamic. She was a member of the jury for the 64th International Film Festival .
