Products
Today Mitsubishi HiTec Paper coated specialty papers produced thermal papers ( thermoscript ), inkjet papers ( jetscript ), label papers ( supercote ) carbonless paper ( giroform ) and barrier papers for food packaging ( barricote ). All products are marketed worldwide, with the export rate in 2019 being 81%.

history
Bielefeld plant
The plant in Bielefeld was founded in 1799. The first paper machine went into operation in 1919, the second followed a year later, the third in 1987. Feldmühle AG took over the company in 1930. 60 years later, the company was taken over by the Stora Group. In 1999 the company was acquired by Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd. taken over, the company name was changed to Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Bielefeld GmbH. In 2010 they merged with the Flensburg sister company and the company was renamed Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe GmbH.
Flensburg plant
Hinrich Gultzau built the paper mill in the Mühlenstromtal in 1696. The first paper machine went into operation in 1848. In 1954 a new paper machine for hygiene papers went into operation. Stora took over the company in 1990 and in 1999 it was acquired by Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd. taken over, the new company name is Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Flensburg GmbH. In 2010, the Bielefeld sister company was merged and the company was renamed Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe GmbH.
In 2001 the European Commission imposed a fine of 21.24 million euros on Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Bielefeld as a member of the carbonless paper cartel .
