Mitsunori Yamao ( Japanese 山 尾 光 則 , Yamao Mitsunori ; born April 13, 1973 in Aichi Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Yamao learned to play football on the university team at Aichi Gakuin University . He signed his first contract with the Nagoya Grampus Eight in 1996 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 1997 he moved to the second division Ventforet Kofu . For the club he completed 54 games. In 1999 he moved to league rivals FC Tokyo . In 1999 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League. For the club he completed 16 games. In May 2002 he moved to the second division club Cerezo Osaka . For the club he completed 17 games. In 2003 he moved to league rivals Yokohama FC . For the club he completed 108 games. At the end of 2005 he ended his career as a soccer player.
