Mitsuo Hama

Mitsuo Hama ( Japanese 浜 光 雄 , Hama Mitsuo , also in the spelling: は ま み つ を ; born September 20, 1933 in Shiojiri , Nagano Prefecture ; † February 22, 2011 in Matsumoto , Nagano Prefecture) was a Japanese writer and writer for young people.

Life

Mitsuo studied education at Shinshū University . After graduating, he worked as chairman of the Shinshū Society for Youth Literature. Together with Takahashi Chūji and Wada Noboru , he published the magazine "Tōge no hata" ( と う げ の 旗 ). In 1970 he made his debut with "Waga haha ​​no shozo" ( わ が 母 の 肖像 , The portrait of our mother ). For Haru yo koi ( 春 よ こ い ) he received the 1979 Red Bird literary prize , for "Renga no kisetsu" ( レ ン ゲ の 季節 ) he received the 1983 Tsukahara Kenjirō literary prize .

In 2011, Mitsuo died of pneumonia in Matsumoto Hospital at the age of 77.
