Tsukahara Kenjirō Literature Prize

The Tsukahara Kenjirō Literature Prize ( Japanese 塚 原 健 二郎 文学 賞 , Tsukahara Kenjirō Bungakushō ) was a literary prize that was awarded annually from 1978 to 1991 in memory of the writer Kenjirō Tsukahara and to promote children's and young people's literature. The prize was initially awarded by the Tsukahara Kenjirō Association for Youth Literature under the direction of the writer Miyaguchi Shizue , then from 1989 on by the Kyōdo Verlag ( 郷 土 出版社 , Kyōdo Shuppansha , roughly: "Heimatverlag in Nagano"). The awarding of the prizes ceased with the 14th presentation on March 8, 1991 .
