Central European transversal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Central European Transversal (MET) is a gas pipeline in the planning stage of RWE Energy AG, which is to run from Sayda on the border with the Czech Republic via the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region to Eynatten in Belgium . The aim of the 740-kilometer pipeline is to increase the transport capacities in the east-west direction and the degree of networking of the natural gas pipeline network.

After the opening of the regional planning procedure in April 2008, the planning approval decisions from 2010 to 2011 should follow. The construction of the line was then planned for 2011 to 2013.

Key figures

  • Line diameter: 1 meter (DN1000)
  • Operating pressure: max. 100 bar
  • Laying method: underground
  • Transport medium: natural gas ("H"), liquefied natural gas (LNG) should also be possible
