Miura (clan)
The Miura ( Japanese 三浦 氏 , Miura-shi ) of the Edo period were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ) , which was derived from a sideline of the Miura clan, which died out in 1516.

Ancestral father was Miura Iemura (三浦 家村), son of Yoshimura (義 村; † 1239).
- Masatsugu (正 次; 1600–1641) was raised to daimyo in 1639 and received Mibu Castle in Shimotsuke Province with 25,000 Koku.
- Akihiro (明 敬; 1658-1725), grandson of Masatsugu, received the Nobeoka Castle in the province of Hyūga in 1692 with 23,000 Koku. In 1712 he took over Kariya Castle in Mikawa Province with 23,000 koku.
- Yoshisato (義理; 1696–1756), Akihiro's son, was transferred to Nishio Castle , also in Mikawa Province , with 23,000 koku.
- Akitsugi (明 次; 1726–1798), Yoshisato's adopted son, was raised to daimyo in 1764 and received the Katsuyama castle in the Mimasaka province , where the Miura had previously resided. He rebuilt the now ruined castle on Mount Katsuyama. The Miura resided there until the Meiji Restoration . The chief then received the rank of vice count.
