Miura Keizo

Miura Keizō ( Japanese 三浦 敬 三 ; born February 15, 1904 in Aomori , Aomori Prefecture ; † January 5, 2006 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese ski pioneer and ski instructor.

Life

Miura founded a ski dynasty. With 77 years he managed the Kilimanjaro on skis, 88-year-old he made a 100-km cross-country tour of the Alps and to his 99th birthday he is accompanied by four generations of his family, on skis, the Vallee Blanche in Mont Blanc -region gone. His son Yuichiro was the first to ski the southern slope of Mount Everest in the 1970s .

He died of multiple organ failure and left three sons, including the alpinist Yūichirō Miura , and a daughter.
