Mixoparthenos
Mixoparthenos ( Greek Μιξοπάρθενος , half- virgin ) is a hybrid being in Greek mythology , half snake, half woman.
According to Herodotus , she kidnapped the sleeping Heracles' horses and only gave them back to him when he slept with her. This gave birth to three sons, of whom, on Herakles' advice, she kept the one with her who could later draw his father's bow as an adult; Heracles left a phial for him . The one who could draw the bow was Scythians and became the progenitor of the Scythians , who therefore wore a phial on their belt. She sent the other two, Agathyrsos and Gelonos , out of the country.
