Miyobe (also: Soruba , Bijobe , Biyobe , Sorouba , Solla , Uyobe , Meyobe , Kayobe , Kuyobe , Sola , Solamba ) is the language of the Soruba people .

Most of them live in Togo and Benin. Miyobe is in the process of being ousted in both countries by the sole official language of French . It belongs to the Gur languages .

The information on the number of speakers fluctuates at around 8,700 (1991) people. Around 1,700 speakers (1991) live in Togo and around 6,000 (1991) in Benin.

In Togo, the speakers of Miyobe live in the Kara region , to the northeast of the town of Kpagoudain in the Binah prefecture. The center of the Miyobe speakers is Kouyoria. Some isolated groups live in Kounacire (Massédéna) and Sola (Koutougou). In Benin, they mainly live in the Atakora Province.

There is a lexical agreement of about 27% with Moba , 25% Ditammari and 47% with Ngangam .
