The Mizuho Plateau ( Japanese み ず ほ 高 Mizuho Kôgen , in Norway Thorshavnheiane ) is an almost structureless and ice-covered plateau in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . The plateau is east of the Queen Fabiola Mountains and south of the Shirase Glacier .
A team from the Japanese Antarctic Expedition, which ran from 1957 to 1961, explored it between November and December 1960 and named it after a mythological name for Japan .
