The Mobile Zone Holding AG , based in Rotkreuz is in the mobile and fixed telephony operations, independent Swiss company that at the since 2001 SIX Swiss Exchange has been listed. The individual business areas are organized under one holding umbrella in several subsidiaries. The group of companies employed more than 850 people at the end of 2017 and generated a consolidated profit of 35.2 million Swiss francs in 2017. Mobilezone was founded in 1999 as a mobile phone seller.

Business model

The business model of Mobilezone AG and Mobilezone Business AG is based on agreements with the mobile network operators active in Switzerland, which compensate Mobilezone for the placement of new customers and subscription extensions (one-off commission). The commissions allow the two stock corporations to sell the cell phones to customers at low prices or free of charge. The core area is the trade division with Mobilezone AG, founded in May 1999 with over 120 sales outlets in most of the larger Swiss towns. The Mobilezone Business is aimed at corporate customers.

The subsidiaries TalkTalk AG and Mobiletouch AG belong to Mobilezone Holding ag. TalkTalk AG is a reseller in the areas of mobile, landline and internet, whose products are available in over 120 mobilezone shops. Mobiletouch AG offers repair and logistics services for mobile products such as cell phones, digital cameras and other devices in Switzerland and Austria. Since January 2018, there has been a contract with SBB to repair the smartphones of all SBB employees.

In 2019, Mobilezone took over SH Telekommunikation Deutschland GmbH .

In August 2020, the company announced that the current Chairman of the Board of Directors Urs Fischer would no longer stand for re-election. The former CEO of Sunrise , Olaf Swantee, will take his place.
