Mobirise Website Builder is a freeware developed by Mobirise. The application enables users with no technical knowledge to create and publish websites based on Bootstrap . The creation of websites is based on the drag-and-drop principle. While it is a freeware, certain extensions, e.g. B. the HTML / CSS code editor is chargeable.

Mobirise has been described on Huffington Post , IDG , TechRadar, About.com, Bloomberg as an offline alternative to such well known online website builders as Wix.com , Weebly, Jimdo , Webydo, Squarespace.

history

The first beta version of Mobirise was released on May 19, 2015, which emphasized the code-free web design and the Google update for mobile-friendly websites. Version 2.0 was released on September 30, 2015, to which drop-down menus, contact forms, animations, access to third-party topics and extensions were added. Since the 3rd version started, some new themes and enhancements have been added and most themes have been based on Bootstrap 4 .

Version 4.0 was released on June 16, 2017, in which the program system and the app interface were updated and a new standard theme was set as a template. From version 4.6, Mobirise provides AMP themes. The last version is 4.12.3.

From version 4.5, Mobirise also offers its user interface in German. Since then, more languages ​​have been added including Chinese, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, Slovenian, Hungarian, Polish, Croatian, Romanian, Portuguese, Dutch and Bulgarian.
