Model building association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Model making clubs offer their members the opportunity to pursue their technically demanding hobby together . Most of the clubs have a suitable area to move the respective models (model airfield, model flying hall , model racing track, lake, clubhouse with stationary model train). For some models ( e.g. model aircraft with a weight of over 5 kg) there are legal provisions that restrict their use to specially secured club premises. The legally prescribed tests and monitoring for the operation of certain model classes are carried out in part by the umbrella organization of the German Model Aviation Association.

Due to the technical challenges involved in model making, the focus of the association's work is on the intensive exchange of experiences between the members. The model construction associations also organize public events such as model flying days or championships , to which members of other associations are usually invited and which regularly attract many visitors with their mixture of show and competition .
