Mogens Herman Hansen

Mogens Herman Hansen (born August 20, 1940 in Frederiksberg ) is a Danish ancient historian .

Hansen studied at the University of Copenhagen and has taught there since 1968. From 1993 to 2005 he was director of the Copenhagen Polis Center . He is considered "one of the best experts on the history and constitution of Athens". In the book The Athenian democracy by Jochen Bleicken he is the most quoted modern historians. According to Beat Näf , he is “the most important researcher of Attic democracy today”.
