Mohamed Sifaoui (born July 4, 1967 ) is a journalist and book author of Algerian origin living in France .

The Muslim is primarily concerned with exposing Islamist networks and their activities. He describes himself as a “secular and democratic Muslim” ( musulman laïque et démocrate ).

Sifaoui has lived in France since 1999 after narrowly escaping an Islamist attack in Algeria. After his film report Undercover by Al Qaida (2003), which was also shown on German television and for which a book was published, the journalist had to go into hiding again.

Since October 2007 he has been a board member of the French non-governmental organization SOS Racisme .

Sifaoui is accused by critics that his reports are polemical and sensation- seeking .
