Mohammed Tamim (Arabic: محمد تمبم; born May 31, 1958 in Casablanca , Morocco ) is a Moroccan architect, researcher in development economics and French-speaking author. He lives in Laayoune , Western Sahara .

Life

Tamim comes from a family whose origins can be found in Chinguetti , Mauritania . After primary school at the Catholic school Charles de Foucauld, he attended the Lycée Lyautey in Casablanca . After graduating there, he enrolled at the Kassel University in Germany to study architecture. He graduated with a degree in architecture. After a few months in the public service in Al Hoceima (Morocco), he worked as a city architect for the city of Laayoune ( Western Sahara ). During a college project investigating the slum (or bidonville ) Benmsik in Casablanca, he discovered that the term bidonville was first used in Morocco. He later found that the origins of this type of habitat, among other Third World characteristics, were first found in England during the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries.

He also built many schools, public and private. More recently he has been involved with his organization SaharaGreen for the development of renewable energies in the Sahara provinces .

Theses on development economics

  • Origin and definition of the developing country : like Walt Whitman Rostov , Mohammed Tamim believes that, as with the industrial revolution in England during the 18th and 19th centuries, the developing countries can be defined as countries that are in a period of transition from different to one another traditional forms of life to modern forms of life.
  • Development indicator : the development of a country can be measured by the level of modern education. The level of school enrollment is proportional to the level of economic development and inversely proportional to the level of population growth. The economic development is measured here by the proportion of employed persons in the modern sectors as well as in life expectancy.
  • Population growth : triggered by vaccination campaigns, population growth is a major obstacle to the generalization of school enrollment in developing countries and therefore to development itself.
  • The condition of the possibility for the Walt Whitman Rostov take-off model: The economic upswing in developing countries requires a generalization of school enrollment from elementary school to university.
  • The foresight of rulers: The Emperor Meiji was the first great strategist of development in history. The success of development policy depends on the foresight of those in power.
  • The universal development strategy: The generalization of education and therefore family planning .
  • The opportunity, or the international community: The opportunities can lie at the top of any developing country in a person with vision and integrity. But this probability is slim. Such a strategy can only be realized through universal solidarity, like a UN reform.

Subjects of literary works

Through his works in literature, Mohammed Tamim has processed and presented the main topics of his research in the field of development economics:

  • The overpopulation of the slums is illustrated by the strange story of "Maria D.", a play that illustrates the struggles of Maria, a young woman who is in a slum and is pregnant with her seventh child.
  • Immigration and racism in “Ulrich”, the story of an Arab neo-Nazi, the story of a blond Arab who is fascinated by Nazi ideology and who founds and leads a neo-Nazi organization.
  • The general development policy in "Kanem-Bornous", or of Africa, is in part the story of an African general who, thanks to an effective development policy and despite a psychopathic, corrupt president who detests whites and albinos, made his region a highly developed region of his country power.
  • Corruption and bad governance in Laayoune Plage.
  • The Study of Islamist Movements in the “Specter of Islamism”.
  • Homosexuality in a Religious World "Nabil Haddad".
  • The problem of aging and youth and beauty in "Alain Ledon".
