Mohammed al-Senussi

Mohammed al-Senussi (born October 20, 1962 in Tripoli , Kingdom of Libya ) is the current pretender to the throne of Libya .

Life

His great-great-grandfather was Mohammed bin Ali al-Senussi , the founder of the Senussi order. Mohammed al-Senussi is a son of the last Crown Prince Hasan al-Senussi and a great-nephew of King Idris, who was overthrown by Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in 1969 . His family has since been under house arrest. In 1988 Gaddafi El Senussi and his family were exiled abroad.

Prince Mohammed has lived in Great Britain since then. He is single.

During the Libyan civil war in 2011, he spoke up several times and expressed his support for the groups fighting against Gaddafi.
