Grattai Mountain is a 1,412 meter high mountain in the Nandewar Range , the foot of which is 500 meters above sea level in the northern part of New South Wales , Australia . The mountain is about 38 km from Narrabri , 55 km from Bingara and 62 km from Barraba .
The Grattai Mountain is located with the 1,502 meter high Mount Kaputar in the Mount Kaputar National Park in the area of the geological Nandewar Volcano and consists of volcanic rock . It was created around 21 million years ago.
Since the mountain is remote, it is not often climbed, but hiking trails lead to the mountain and those who climb its highest peak can enter themselves in the summit book , which is in a container on the mountain top.
