Mohsen Bahmani-Oskooee

Mohsen Bahmani-Oskooee (born October 31, 1951 in Osku ) is an Iranian -born American economist .

Career, research and teaching

Bahmani-Oskooee first studied at the National University of Iran , from which he graduated in 1975 . After emigrating to the United States, he studied at Michigan State University , where he received his Master of Arts in 1979 and a Ph.D. two years later. -Title graduating. He then moved to the academic staff of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee as an assistant professor , and in 1986 he was promoted to associate professor . He was appointed full professor in 1991 and has been UWM Distinguished Professor since 2010. Between 2011 and 2015 he headed the business administration faculty .

Bahmani-Oskooee's work focuses on macroeconomics , in particular on issues relating to world trade and the economics of open economies .

He has been editor of the Journal of Economic Studies since 2006, co-editor of Open Economies Review since 2015 and of Journal of Economic Asymmetries since 2017 .
