The Federation for Indigenous Peoples V. ( BfN e.V. for short , later the Bund für "Naturvölker" e.V. , most recently Bund für Indigenvölker e.V. ) was a non-profit, German association to support indigenous peoples . The association was founded in May 1995 and registered at the local court in Eberswalde in January 1996 . In 2004 the association had 112 members. In 2011 the association disbanded.

The goals of the association were (according to the statutes):

  • to make the lot of the last "primitive peoples" public;
  • to work with all necessary, peaceful means for the survival of these peoples in the dignity and tradition of their ancestors;
  • to support international campaigns for land rights and protests against arbitrariness and violence;
  • Providing on-site assistance to preserve traditional cultures and ways of life;
  • to work with indigenous organizations in Brazil;
  • Publish project descriptions and calls for donations in the association's journal Bumerang .

With the collected donations, the association supported u. a .:

  • a medical training and counseling project in the Amazon region of Brazil (from 1997);
  • medical projects for the benefit of indigenous peoples in Peru and Paraguay (since 2001);
  • a training and cultural center in Mongolia (since 2005).
