The Moi Air Base is a military airbase of the Kenya Air Force in Eastleigh, a suburb of the capital Nairobi in Kenya .
The airfield was laid out by the British in the 1930s as the first RAF base in East Africa and operated by the Royal Air Force as RAF Eastleigh . Until the beginning of 1974, the military base was also served by the British Overseas Airways Corporation in passenger service.
In 1954 the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority opened the DCA Aviation School here, where the Kenya Air Cadets of the Kenya Air Force have also been completing their military flight training since 1963. Major-General Samuel Ng'ang'a Thuita has been in command since July 30, 2014. Due to its military status, the airfield is not listed on any official map of Kenya, but is shown on Google Maps without further details.
