Molella 2014

Maurizio Molella (born November 6, 1964 in Monza ), known as DJ Molella , Molella or Molly , is an Italian DJ , music producer and radio host .

Career

As a teenager, Molella mixed music on tapes and began working for a local radio station. In 1986 he started his career at Radio DeeJay , in collaboration with Gerry Scotti , Amadeus and Jovanotti . He also accompanied the latter on television appearances and tours. Further broadcasts on Radio Deejay followed, with Do Re Mix being particularly successful . Molella also achieved chart successes with in-house productions, first with Revolution (1992) and Confusion (1993), then with Change , which reached the top of the Italian single charts in 1994. In 1995 he released his first album Originale radicale musicale .

As a producer, Molella was particularly successful during these years with the singer Gala , who landed a Europe-wide hit in 1996 with Freed from Desire . He also worked with The Outhere Brothers , with whom he appeared on Top of the Pops , and started the project The Soundlovers . Also remixes for u. a. Vasco Rossi and Gemelli Diversi met with approval. Even at the turn of the millennium he had a number of chart successes, around 1997 with It's a Real World . In 2001 he released his second album Les jeux sont faits , which also hit the charts. The following year Molella received the Italian Music Award for best dance producer.

This was followed by further remixes and a collaboration with Gigi D'Agostino in the Gigi & Molly project . Molella's third album Made in Italy was released in 2004 , followed by Mollywood in 2009 .
